Suspect Apprehended and Charged with Murder Following Discovery of Woman’s Body in Luxury 5-Star Hotel

A 60-year-old man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman’s body at a luxury five-star hotel in Surrey, England.

The body of a woman in her 50s was found at the Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot last Sunday. Emergency services were alerted after the South East Coast Ambulance Service responded to the scene at about 8:43 am. Despite efforts by paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim, and the cause of death remains under investigation.

The Pennyhill Park Hotel, a frequent retreat for the England rugby team ahead of the Six Nations tournament, is located just two miles from Bagshot Park, the residence of Prince Edward.

A spokesman for Surrey Police’s Major Crime Team confirmed the arrest and charges in a statement: “A 60-year-old man has been charged in connection with the ongoing murder investigation in Bagshot. James Cartwright, of Axminster, in Devon, was charged with murder and controlling and coercive behaviour after being arrested on Friday.”

Cartright has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
