Police and trading standards officers have confiscated hundreds of oversized illegal vapes in North Lanarkshire.
The North Lanarkshire Council reported that their teams collaborated to confiscate these non-compliant products from a location in Airdrie.
These oversized vapes feature tanks ranging from 10ml to 15ml, which surpass the legal limit of 2ml. Their lack of proper registration renders their sale illegal.
Inspector Gavin Tuohy remarked, “This was an intelligence-driven joint operation with Trading Standards that resulted in a significant number of illegal vapes being seized from a site in Airdrie this week.
“If you have any tips about illegal sales of vape products or tobacco, you can report them to Police Scotland at 101, your local authority Trading Standards Department, or anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.”
