A man faces charges after an “imitation firearm” was discovered in Glasgow on Friday night, prompting an armed police reaction.
Police, including armed officers, descended on the Springburn scene at approximately 7pm last night following reports of a man “in possession of a weapon.”
Glasgow Live reported that at least three police vehicles and six specialist officers were spotted at the scene. Police Scotland has now confirmed that a 28-year-old man was apprehended and charged in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson stated: “Around 7pm on Friday, 3 May, 2024, police were summoned to the Kay Street area of Springburn, Glasgow, following a report of a man believed to be in possession of a weapon.
“Officers attended and an imitation firearm was seized. A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the incident.”
